Tok is one of the coldest places in North America with temperatures often dropping below -70℉ in the winter. When it gets that cold life can be difficult and strange; and things can get weird...

  • I have lived here for 7 years I work for the Alaska power and telephone, the 2007-2008 winter was the coldest -65 some say -80 but I believe the offical temp was -65 F. Now on the flip side the hottest summer on record for Tok 2004 the year I moved here, it got to around 98 F. yes 98 degrees above it was blistering hot. so the widest tempature swing in america from -65 F to +98 F a total of 163 degrees differance in temp no other place on earth see that much differance in temp.

  • why live there!? :P

  • I've been there. It is about survival. Fast Eddies was nice:-)

  • I did use a little creative license here. My favorite place to shop in Tok: Tok General Store!! AND there is also the Grumpy Grizz restaurant.
