Selena and Aaliyah both died too young and childless. They both died unnatural deaths. Selena was murdered when I was in high school. Aaliyah died in a plane crash when I was in college. Their dreams remained unfulfilled.  Their singing voices sound somewhat similar to each other. Their older brothers wrote songs for them. If Aaliyah were to sing Dreaming of You, the difference from Selena would be hard to make out. Condolences go out to the Quintanilla family and the Haughton family.

Selena was 5'6 and Aaliyah 5'7, so Aaliyah was taller. I didn't know they wore the same shoe size though. #9 was funny and cute.

@Sliverkitten1 I was 15 at the time of Selena's death. I was 21 at the time of Aaliyah's death. I heard a lot about the Oklahoma city bombing, which caused 168 deaths. I also remember the 9/11 attacks, which caused over 5,000 deaths. Yolanda Saldívar killed Selena and was sentenced to life in prison. Luis Morales III killed Aaliyah and eight others at the expense of his own life. Deception led Saldívar and Morales to claim these two young lives through deception.

@TediusZanarukando Really? I don't remember the Oklahoma City Bombing being after Selena's passing...I was 11 at the time. I geuss I forgot. But I do remember the 911 attacks. That's really crazy how they have that in common. So sad that they had to leave so soon!!

@TediusZanarukando aaliyah's funeral was not public and her casket was open where did u guys get that from aaliyah's body wasnt burned bad like they say it was an selena funeral was publc cause its on youtube and they have a pic of her in the casket if it was priate they wouldnt have that

There are a lot of similarities between the two of them. They both started singing at a young age, they both came from good families and had good morals within themselves, they both were in the midst of marriage when they passed, they both died in their 20's and I think their birthdays are even on the 16th of different months.. they both were well liked in the music business. It's like the only thing really making them different was their skin colors. Love them both. RIP Liyah and Selena!
