Jerome Arizona and Gold King Mine. Once known as the wickedest town in the west, Jerome was a copper mining camp, growing from a settlement of tents to a roaring mining community.
An attempt at traveling light and producing good, stabile video.

BTW none of that tourist stuff was there. It was really abandoned in 1970.
Then some hippies moved in and the rest is history.

I was there in 1970. We were a bunch of college students on a road trip to the Grand Canyon from San Diego.
Jerome had been abandoned because the mines beneath the town had hollowed out under the houses.
We entered one house that was balanced on a water pipe that ran under it. If you walked from the front door to the dining room the whole house would teeter on the pipe.
Needless to say we got out of there fast!
Nowadays, the inhabited houses are those who sit on rock that is stable.
