  • will this work when uploading it to the game Second Life?

  • @FunkyJJ777 It's because this video is from like maya what.. 2008? I'm using 2012 and it's ndynamics also. However, I don't know how to do it either.

  • @migeto use the simulation to create a "blen shape" and you control the capes look with the blenshape slider. So basically create a duplicate of your geometry, run the simulation to a point where it looks right then apply the shape to your duplicate.

  • @FunkyJJ777 It depends on the version of maya, if you have ultimate or unlimited, some versions combined all the nDynamics and others have them separated. the options used in this video are still there, under "nMesh" located fourth from the bottom of that pull down, and work the same.

  • @FunkyJJ777 i hope u already figured it out. but... ncloth is now within ndynamics. go to ndynamics > nmesh > ncloth.

  • How do I stop the cloth from falling

I'm trying to make a cape and it just collapses on the ground when I hit play.

I tried to parent it to another object to no avail, it still just falls

FOUND ANSWER: Needed to select the nCloth, open Attribute Editor, select the nClothShape1 tab and in the Dynamic Properties section set Input Mesh Attract to 1.0.

My value was defaulting to 0, the person doing tutorial must have already adjuested this, but didnt think to mention it or didnt know the implications.

  • @FunkyJJ777 @FunkyJJ777 I am running 2010/2011 and all of the partcile stuff is bundled under nDynamics.

Select it, then look under nMesh(in File/Edit/Modify/etc pulldowns) for "Create nCloth" and other stuff
