The mission of the 7th Airborne Command and Control Squadron was to serve as the Airborne Battlefield Command and Control Center (ABCCC) for joint operations from Vietnam through Operation Deny Flight. It had a rich, interesting history and, as the video attests, was in every major conflict during this time as well as peacetime operations. Its mission was taken over by AWACS and Joint Stars platforms and the squadron was disbanded in 2000. An ABCCC museum is open at Hurlburt Field, Florida. The 7th ACCS flew in a modified EC-130 aircraft. This video grew out of experiences during Desert Shield and Storm, when we found out many units, particularly ground forces, didn't know about us.
