@esca8652 For it's size there's considerable less to do here than you'd expect. You can usually find something, but it feels like a much smaller town than it actually is.

There's a pretty big difference between North Raleigh/Cary, where most of the engineer types work and South Raleigh, which is generally more blue-collar and college kid oriented (a lotta NC State kids)
Over all Raleigh's still a pretty chill/safe town, if not boring sometimes.
Durham... is something else entirely.

@390fe390 Shame shame too. It still deserves some rep due to the fact that it is the smartest city in the US(!)

@390fe390 Nothing to do, any big city has something to do. I'm from a small boring town, but I find ways to enjoy it at it's most, like taking a walk in the country out where i live. You must just be a city dude.

true....i live in NJ so much going on here though!

Hope you enjoyed your visit. 4 out of the 5 minutes in your video were actually Durham, not Raleigh. But beautiful, nonetheless...
Both cities are great places to live & work!!

Tons and Tons of Pharmaceutical, Technology Oriented companies (like Cisco Systems), Hospitals/Medical (Duke, UNC, Rex, Wake Med, etc), Science (all kinds), Research (all kinds), construction equipment plants (John Deere, CAT, Cummins, etc), you name it we got it. NC has one of the largest research parks in the US and some of the highest paying jobs in the US. Basically, NC is a a great place to live (money wise) if you are well educated and looking a job in one of these fields.

Whats the money benefit in your city ?
-
You are lucky.

I know. That is an understatement.

I'm telling you people, I'm from Raleigh and there ain't nothing here :)

Just so you know, only the last minute of this video shows Raleigh. The other 80% of the video is of the Duke University campus and the Sarah P. Duke Gardens, both of which are located in Durham, North Carolina.
