Bil'in Remembers Berlin - Fri. 6-11-09

Some 40 internationals and 30 Israelis joined the weekly demo of several dozen Palestinians against the wall in Bil'in, this time commemorating 20 years to the collapse of the Berlin wall. Upon arrival the Shabab started busily cutting through the fence parallel to the trail. Covered by the smoke of a burning tire, two of them made impressive progress for quite a few minutes before the army noticed them. The demonstrators carried a large styrofoam model of the wall, which they set in the space between the main gate and the fence, and which the soldiers then removed, as they hopefully will the actual fence as well. The demonstrators carried posters demanding the release of Adeeb, the member of the village's popular committee still in the Israeli jail. A Belgian choir gave the demo a wonderfully surreal character, as they sang in harmony songs of resistance and struggle in various languages, while the army was throwing gas and shock grenades, and the shabab, enjoying the support of a very favourable wind, was returning many unexploded canisters accompanied by stones.

Really because it seems that the Jews fired first and the Palestinians were unarmed (unless you count rocks thrown in retaliation). Oh yeah, singing and chanting are such "violent provocations"...if you're a Jewish pussy who can't take any criticism.

As for the "ignorant European grannies" it is better to be that then an Ignorant European Jew stealing and occupying other people's land.
