@hawkfist69 , no this is Pure Korean. China is not the only influential asain country out there. Korea can have its own styles, and they are all different. Taekkyon is a Pure form of Korean martial arts. also as i (a korean), i can "feel" with this song and dance, my country's nationality.

no tkd was safe, taekkyun is too deadly and had a bad reputation in the modern era. in traditional korea they created a "village game" version which you can learn today. but i know that in san jose, ca you can pick up the deadly stuff but you have to see it & it will take forever to be able to be used at all.

Yes Taekkyun is a designated a national treasure. There are at least 3 places outside of SKorea where its taught. One in Israel and two in west USA. Taekwondo wasn't created to keep non-koreans from learning TK. Search Taekkyun #21 and watch the video. You'll see a bulgarian girl learning TK alongside koreans.

Sorry, you guys are BOTH WRONG. Taekkyun is one of koreas national treasures. They don't want to share it with anyone. So they made up Taekwondo so that everyone will learn Taekwondo and stay away from their national treasure Taekkyun.

sng18//No.. you're wrong sry.. the reason that TaeKwonDo became to Korean National Martial arts is it shaped to sports. and the reason of Taekkyun is not the one is it is not one of sport it is martial arts.

The reason why Taekwondo is Korea's National Martial Art is because Taekwondo won the political battle over Taekkyun.
