surfing is not about where you live or who's waves are better.. it is about getting in the ocean and becoming one with nature while you contemplate your existence, then mother nature smiles on you and provides you with a nice clean set.

i grew up in the gulf, surfing bob hall and spi, now i am fortunate enough to to reside in sw oahu - i will surf anywhere, anytime, and IT IS ALL GOOD.

the people here dissing tx do so bc they only wish they could call themselves surfers.

I'm from SPI and have been fortunate enough to surf in more countries than most people can name - typing this from Fiji. We may not have the prettiest water or the best surf in Texas but hands down we have the best vibe in the water and about 3 or 4 days a year when all the stars and planets line up and it blows offshore with a hurricane a few hunder miles offshore... we get a truly epic day that nobody but a gulf coast surfer can truly appreciate. You haters are always invited for a session.

@themonolakis bp actually didnt really affect us, all the surf in texas is galveston and padre island which are all a couple hundred miles south of what was affected

@pinoypangit and have offshore gulf fishing that is pretty much the best.
