Pretty awesome to see this game coming to the iPhone/iPad platform, but I wonder what happened to the sequel Ascendancy 2 and that Seeker game?

Ascendancy is a 4X science fiction turn-based strategy computer game. It was released for DOS in 1995 by The Logic Factory. Ascendancy is a galactic struggle to become the dominant life force; to ascend into a higher plane of existence.

  • Does it actually take 50days?

  • 6:16 why the hell would you need more than one engine? who gives a damn for solar move speed??

  • i'll buy iphone just for this game...

  • @NiflheimII I'd hope so. The game was just easy, honestly. The AI never seems to figure out how to build up or how to mass it's ships, preferring to just send them one or two at a time just to get massacred by my fleet of both superior size and technology. But I played on the Computer back in the day. I wish I had an iPad.

  • @ih8makinusernames They have included the patch that improves the AI tremendously.

  • Awesome game. Waiting for DROID version

  • Please for the love of God make this available for Android!!! This game was one of the best ever. I still have it on a dos emulator.

  • Did they fix the AI? Because there was very little difficulty in this game once you figuired it out. The AI never seemed to ever build up there planets or really ever keep up with you. I played it on the computer and the AI would build up a planet about halfway and then just try to mass produce ships.

  • I used to play this when I was a child, I was awful at it. This makes me want to buy an iPad/Phone just to play this. Thanks.

  • I just got this the other day. I was very excited to see this, as I remember this coming out back in the day and wanting it so bad. It seems good so far, although I've only played it a little bit and haven't learned much about the game.

I'm also finding it EXTREMELY hard to select my ships while they're orbiting a planet.
