This is a train layout that I installed around the ceiling of my 8yo son. It took about 2 months on again/off again, once I got started. I'd promised it over 2 yrs ago when his younger brother came along, so that he'd move into a big boy room and leave the nursery to the baby.

  • No, I couldn't find a cheap kit to use. All the track on the wall is on 1x8 board. Then to get around the window, I took a 4x8 sheet, laid out the track, and drew a template to cut. I had originally planned to use a couple of supports suspended from the ceiling to hold the track hanging in the air. But the board only deflected 1/8" when the train ran by, so I left it alone.

    Thanks for the comment--my son got 2 more passenger cars for Xmas so it looks like a real train now.
