This commerical came out when the market was doing well, now this kind of upbeat songs can not be found.

@adramatictheme yea at least outback and t mobile provide a service to people, however terrible their parent corporations are... but the stock market is basically a rigged lottery. not simply content with taking every last bit of wealth away from the poor, the ultra rich even found a way to squeeze a couple more bucks out of the middle and upper classes...
i just gotta remind myself that capitalism makes a whore of us all...

In this age of mp3's and questionable downloads, it can be extremely hard for a band to find moderate financial success. I heard that Kevin bought a new stage with the Outback money. Good for him. And believe me, I'll NEVER eat at fuckin' Outback!!!
SUBGENIUS FOR LIFE, MOTHERFUCKERS!!!

Don't you understand that they're using the MAN to undermine HIM? Their performance art is brilliant, their music and lyrics are more subversive than ever. All they did was take a shitwad of money for 30 seconds of music to allow them to continue their creativity.

of Montreal songs are popping up everywhere!! This is like God's way of letting everyone know everything will be okay.

I am going to see them at the hollywood bowl in july...too bad i will be far from the stage...their shows are so interesting...!
-
actually, their sound has changed, but certainly not to be more popular, but listening to Cherry Peel and the Skeletal Lamping, you can barely recognize the band.
just saying, everything else I agree with :]
If Nasdaq offered me a good amount of money to allow the use of my song in a commercial, i'd let them.
I don't give a shit what my indie hipster fans think abou it.
If you stop listening to a band because other people listen, then you're listening to music FOR THE WRONG REASONS.

I don't know why people are so upset over this. These guys deserve to make a living off the great music they write. It's selfish to want that music to only be available to you & your indie friends. My friends and I have been fans for years, and we're glad they're finally getting some dollars from being such a great band. It's their decision to market themselves.
