四大公爵家ベザリウス家の次期当主であるオズ＝ベザリウスは、15歳の成人の儀の最中、身に覚えのない罪により闇の監獄・アヴィスに堕とされる。オズはそこで血染めの黒ウ­サギ（ビーラビット）と呼ばれるチェイン『アリス』と出会い、彼女と契約を交わすことでアヴィスから脱出することに成功するが。
