DP's photo set from Gore Hill Memorial Cemetery, resting place of nearly 15,000 souls, disused and left for nature to take its course. I found this project fascinating. Although the paved stone paths are deserted, I was conscious that I was never alone. www.davidparis.com.au

I wish this cemetery was taken care of, the stones are lovely. Even the most boring and ugly of cemeteries with small forgotten families are taken care of around here.

Bravo! Your pictures are really good!
Have you checked out opacity. us? There are some incredible pictures of decaying places on that website--as a photographer you'll probably find it interesting!

An example of Australian anti-sentimentalism, loss to society as consumerism casts the cold shadow of its dark clouds over our heritage.

In America, Cemeteries are cared for and maintained by tax money depending on where they are located...ie city limits, county etc. I do not think I have ever seen one in such disarray unless, of course, there has been a natural disaster like a hurricane, tornado or earthquake etc.
It is actually quite disturbing, isn't it?
