@Lijrobert Perhaps I do have an eye for detail since I know a fair amount of anthropology, however in the case of Obama, his mixture is painfully obvious when comparing him to native black Africans. Especially black Kenyans which is half of his ancestry. Figuring out what a person is mixed with is easy if the mixture is significant enough for it to be physically expressed. I can tell the difference between Mexicans that are full Native American, white, or Mestizo (mixture of both).

@999basille He definitely is mulatto. Some African Americans tend to go by the one drop rule (a racist rule from the Jim Crow era). What is strange is that they seem far more concerned (and obsessed) with mixed people choosing black than whites of this present day. Most whites couldn't care less about one drop ruling someone, but many African Americans seem to want mixed people to choose black. This is coming from a white American himself.

@Lijrobert I wouldn't think he was black and I'm American. I can spot a mulatto like Obama from far away. Just like I can tell apart African Americans with high levels of European admixture from native black Africans. Obama and arguably most African Americans are not full black and it shows. When in doubt just pair up Obama next to a native black African and the differences are blatantly clear.
