This is my good friend TJ playing Saltarello, an italian medieval tune as played by Narciso Yepes. The extraordinary thing is that Tim listened to this tune on a cassette tape 25 years earlier. Good memory ah?

  • Hi

Author is Vincenzo Galilei. Santa Maria a Monte 1520 Florence 1591. Title : Saltarello. type "Narcisso Yepes" "Saltarello". Narcissso often played "anonymous" melodies as "forbidden games". In fact a melody heard in 1941 film few years before the film forbidden games.

Many thanks for your version, really fine.

Need just some little work to be "cleaned" and to reach Narcisso's very High level one.

Youtube is also a wonderful world for guitar. Thanks to all guys like you.

    Many thanks.

  • Thank you JohnDownload for your learned comment. Youtube is very useful also for expanding musical culture.

I always thought about Saltarello as played by John Renbourn in his album "The Lady and The Unicorn" featuring David Munrow at the recorder.

This is a completely different version.

I found a video on YT of Narciso Yepes performing live the tune.

My friend Bob -the performer in my video- can surely appreciate your post.

    Many many thanks to you.

  • Well done, man! You really can play guitar! Where did you get such a strange song title? Very nice the ancient tower in the background. Is it really Italy?

  • This music evokes the smoky, medieval atmosphere that still exists in those old mountain villages of north Italy where I hiked last summer.

    Really nice playing!!

  • Beautiful. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

  • very nice!!!! makes the wenches want to dance:)

  • @VanDeFields Caro Amico, "Saltarello" è stato scritto dal padre di Galileo Galilei che era un notissomo musicista ai suoi tempi. Il tuo arrangiamento, comunque, è piacevole anche se si discosta molto dal testo originale. Comunque Grazie!

  • Great playing, I realy enjoy listening, bravo

  • Bellissimo! Complimenti!

    Anche l'entorno è proprio adatto...

Particolare il modo in cui tieni la chitarra

  • Very good guitar player indeed! Wonderful tune, too.

    Best to you!
