JHS - Dark
McCort - Light
Johnstown High entered the game with a 7-1 record beating WPIAL rivals McKeesport and Altoona along the way. JHS featured two All-WPIAL players in Quarterback #19 Jack Buchan and End #81 Ben McDay. #40 Artrell Hawkins and Dave Sheridan led the ground game for the Trojans. Bishop McCort came into the season finale sporting a 4-4 record winning their rivalry game against Altoona's Bishop Guilfoyle led by Quarterback and eventual Penn State Defensive Coordinator Tom Bradley. Even with the statistical differential coming into the game it turned out to be an edge of the seat type contest for the 10,000+ in attendance.
