Very good film. I think the premise is pretty implausible... London's main gangster deciding to kill some top IRA guys even after he's realised the chaos that has been taking place is the result of a misunderstanding.
To then think that the IRA won't consider avenging the deaths he has caused is incredibly naive.
The film has so much energy that these points don't really matter. Hoskins is great and his final scene is marvellous.
It proves you don't need words when you're a very good actor.

I thought scarface was overrated, Carlitos way was alot better with some better and more interesting characters. They say one of the sneakiest crimes of the film is Sean Penn stealing the film from the great Al Pacino.

At risk of sounding like a pointless airhead, I fucking love this movie - it is more than a gangster movie, it's a movie about change, and having the world slip away.
