The Royal Institution is looking for engineers to take part in an exciting new project making films for our new venture the Ri Channel www.richannel.org. Thanks to funding from the Royal Academy of Engineering, we're looking for people working in engineering to make films with us about you and your work. You don't need to have any experience of talking to the public or filmmaking, just be enthusiastic and looking for new ways to share your ideas.
You'll be working with the team behind the Christmas Lectures, the Ri Channel and TV classics such as How2 and Local Heroes. You'll get to make two films with us, one produced in partnership with groups of young people (and because of this we'll need to make sure you've got CRB clearance -- though we can help with this if needed).
How to enter
If you're interested, we'd then like you to make your own version of the video above -- you can just use a normal digital camera that shoots video, nothing fancy. Email obrown@ri.ac.uk by Friday 3 February, with a link to your video (or post it here as a reply). We'd love to know a bit about you and what sort of work you do as well please. You can use that email address if you've got any questions about the project too.
