Pedernales Pass

This is our submission for the Project: Direct contest. We shot this in 6 hours! Director: Kevin Cacy, Cinematographer and Editor: Jonathan Cacy, Music: Joe Reyes.
Backstory:
In the Texas Hill Country during the mid to late 1800s there was a huge influx of German settlers. There was much bloodshed between the German settlers, Texas frontiersman, and Mexican settlers in this region. Specifically Mexican families with wealth were easy targets for bandits and thieves and Texans werent anxious to defend the Mexicans. In fact the Texas Regulators and Moderators could care less about helping out these "foreigners", so families were left to defend themselves. We were trying to be as historically accurate as possible.

Thanks everyone! The best part about this contest is seeing all of the amazing films that people put together!

To think that at the same time we were shooting ... there were hundreds of other people out there coming together to make a film with such a ridiculous line in it!

I applaud your ambition. There were shots that were breathtaking, including one that was almost vintage John Ford. I applaud some of the camera work. I applaud much of the costuming. I certainly applaud the location. While I am not certain it holds up as a whole (I am not ertain it holds up

as a whole), you certianly deserve deserve a lot of "kudos" for what is here. Best of luck!
