@truebolt Samoa was the most pitiful country I have ever visited in my life. Truley astounding the level of poverty they live in and the reason we were there was more astounding. @longfinnedeelcatcher as i said before its easy to pinpoint the problems of any culture, but to merely look superficially as a means to try and degrade one culture to validate your sense of superiority (which is a complex i wont go into and i feel you have) offers no solutions but only adds to the problem of racism and hate. @longfinnedeelcatcher In most "primitive cultures" for lack of a better word, food is a staple in the socializing mechanisms in the gatherings of the family, tribe, band, clan, or community at large. due to limited resources the value of food is placed much higher on the hierachy of commodities then its other less needed counterparts. This tradition is still ongoing in the Samoan community. However the value for everything "west" has turned this tradition of fellowship into an epidemic.
