  • No, lice are still a contributing factor. Even the virus may not kill by itself.

    DFO is good at calculating fish #s before they spawn. They died after they were estimated but before they spawned. That's why DFO is trying to figure out what killed them before they spawned.

  • Does this mean we were wrong to assume that sea-lice is to blame for the decline of wild salmon in British Columbia? Are we sure that the 27,000,000 million sockeye salmon that apparently died off existed in the first place???
