Criminal Mischief Vehicle Fire

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF ARREST Two individuals have been arrested and charged with a criminal mischief offense, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin. "Haleigh Elizabeth Boland, 26, and her father Benny Gene Boland, 50, both of Boaz, was arrested and each charged with one count of first degree criminal mischief, which is a felony," states Investigator Shane Hartley. The Boland's allegedly poured gasoline on a vehicle and set it on fire at a residence located on Carlisle Cut-Off Road in the Mountainboro community. The incident occurred on May 8th. Both daughter and father were arrested on May 18th. Haleigh's vehicle had been repossessed by an individual who live at the residence on Carlisle Cut-Off Road. In retaliation of setting the victim's car on fire, Haleigh caught herself on fire. "When contacting the victim, she stated a video camera was set up at the residence and captured the incident on tape," states Investigator Hartley. The video shows Haleigh catching herself on fire and taking off the burning clothes as she ran to a vehicle to drive away. When Investigator Hartley interviewed the Boland's, Haleigh confessed to being the individual seen in the video. She suffered first and second degree burns on her upper body. Both Haleigh and Benny have been released on $2,500 bond each.

You should also listen for passing traffic before you flick the lighter. A parked car suddenly bursting into flames in the middle of the night tends to get people's attention. It also helps to wear darker clothing (and maybe even a mask). I could be wrong, but wearing white pajamas in pitch-black darkness tends to make you stand out more. And you might wanna prepare ahead of time BEFORE you start a fire and wear more protective clothing JUST IN CASE the fire you intend to start leaps up on you.

When she caught herself on fire... why didn't she just jump in the snow?? Surely that would have easily put that fire out. But you gotta admit, that was pretty damn funny watching her run away once she became a human match stick.... especially when the gas container ignited & burst into flames. Apparently it wasn't placed safely away from her "target" as she thought it was. Try placing it in the snow next time, genious. If your gonna commit a crime... at least TRY to get away with it.
