The album is notable as one of the very few modern albums that are not compressed to the max in participation of the loudness war

Track History:
"The Dark of the Matinée", also known simply as "Matinée", is a song by Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand. It was released as the fourth track on the self-titled album Franz Ferdinand on February 9, 2004. On April 19, 2004, it was released as a single and reached eighth position in the charts.

Lyrics:

You take your white finger
Slide the nail under the top and bottom buttons of my blazer
Relax the fraying wool, slacken ties
And I'm not to look at you in the shoe, but the eyes, find the eyes

Find me and follow me through corridors, refectories and files
You must follow, leave this academic factory
You will find me in the matinee
The dark of the matinee
It's better in the matinee
The dark of the matinee is mine
Yes it's mine

I time every journey to bump into you, accidentally
I charm you and tell you of the boys I hate
All the girls I hate
All the words I hate
All the clothes I hate
How I'll never be anything I hate
You smile, mention something that you like
or How you'd have a happy life if you did the things you like

Find me and follow me through corridors, refectories and files
You must follow, leave this academic factory
You will find me in the matinee
The dark of the matinee
It's better in the matinee
The dark of the matinee is mine
Yes it's mine

So I'm on BBC2 now, telling Terry Wogan how I made it and
What I made is unclear now, but his deference is and his laughter is
My words and smile are so easy now
Yes, It's easy now
Yes, It's easy now

Find me and follow me through corridors, refectories and files
You must follow, leave this academic factory
You will find me in the matinee
The dark of the matinee
It's better in the matinee
The dark of the matinee is mine
Yes it's mine

  • reminds me of the Slavic experience from the 1983 show Black Tulip. Check out tedious ted and his crumpled corduroy trousers.

i thought it said evil white man

  • Tempo bom...

  • @jenjenjenhi I understand that, But thats mostly just touch up. Robotic autotune and things you use in the studio to make touch ups on an album before its released.

  • @TheGodOfMusic88 there are different types of auto tune.the kind rappers like to use, and also singers use. you dont even have to be a bad singer like you you could be on pitch the whole time but there is just some small imperfections that can easily be fixed many very good singers use it. it doesnt mean your a bad singer if you use it.

  • is this a demo? this sounds different that the mix on the album

  • Is someone honestly saying this is autotuned? Do you even fucking know what autotune sounds like? Idiots. I swear. If your going to say something at least make it sound somewhat sensible.
