I think the Republican Party and their cronies on Wall Street could certainly use some "faith-based programs" right now... but the truth is that the 30-year experiment with Reaganesque pro-business, anti-government, pro-deregulation economics is coming thankfully to a very abrupt end.

@trogwolf You said yourself that "this is what comes of pres believing govt has to play an important role in business". Also isnt supply side economics about govt and business helping eachother. As for republicans sabotaging govt. to prove their philosphey right do some research on "starve the beast", its about giving tax breaks and spending to create huge deficits to prevent more spending and to prove that govt fails.

@lmdslam I don't believe anyone could seriously make the case, even if they believed it, that Bush or any other president of the United States wanted to sabotage the government to fail. Besides, it wasn't the governmnet that ended up failing, it was the economy.

@trogwolf Or this is what comes when a president wants to sabotage govt. to fail because it will then prove that govt fails. Also, tell that to the American bankers association, the home builders association, mortgage lenders association and wall st that all lobbied and benefited from bush's home ownership society.

What is the definition of oxymoron? "qualified low-income home buyer" sounds like an example of one. This has to be the worst case scenario example of a failure of the affirmative action concept. Did "America's Home Ownership Challenge" really promote the goal of "Achieve a more secure America"? (min 4:00) This is what comes of a President believing that the Government has to play an important role in business.
