Buying Energy cells and selling to the Power Stations (there are two and one pays more than the other!) is the quickest way. This is an old-school RPG really, where you need a notepad to map out locations and prices, like with the original Elite, which I put 100's of hours into and still have the 58 pages of notes I made while playing that game! :)

This game has such a slow start, I wish I had found your LP earlier, as I think it would have been fine to do one flower - oil trip to show the "process", then doing the rest of the trading off-screen until you have enough money to start trading another item, then repeat. So this until you have the accelerator, etc and then continue thereafter.
