many killers, especially those of this kind, are highly unstable people. Why unstable? Because of their precariously high sensibility. When you live in a world of fantasy, everything becomes a deluded game.

I really don't think this film is saying it's fine to kill anyone - thats possibly why the viewer was made to feel uncomfortable towards the end - even if the protagonists weren't.

In my opinion, it just investigates the complexity of human relationships. I don't think it's about prejudice, I think anything could have pushed them towards the murder at that time to be honest. It seems very very unique. Such a good film though, only just watched it. I do not believe they were evil at all either. x

BlairMeek, I bet the woman she murdered by hitting her in the head viciously 45 times (and she had marks on her neck where she was held down) would have like to have been left alone to live out her life for pete's sake. @julietspanic I'm unclear as to the nature of your relationship with Juliet Hulme (aka Anne Perry). You appear to idolize her via this montage and your previous comments.

Perry is a sociopath. She and Pauline Parker coldly and viciously murdered Honora Parker, after which Hulme proceeded to seek out fame, drawing even more attention to herself. She shows no remorse or humility. She and Parker should have received the death penalty (and I don't even agree with capital punishment).

oh for petes sake leave Anne Perry ALone, she spent her time in jail, she's expressed remorse for what happened, has apologized and has given back to society. In the past 50ish years since she was released from prison has she ever committed another crime like murder? I think that murder is unacceptable, but at some point we have to forgive people for their crimes.

No, the Queen of that time is still on the throne, but it does not really depend upon Her. It's an order in the name of the Queen by the minister of Justice of those days. I don't think anyone in his senses would hold a more than 50 year old government regulation against them if they met, especially not outside British territory. Perhaps they are afraid to see each other again after all those years...
