DIAMOND GSV-3000 fan noise (whistle) problem

I have got new this power supply. It is the CE Protocol limited type, only 25A pep and not 34A. After few minutes on, the fan starts to make a strange noise, like a terrible whistle that come straight in your head!!! I opened the case and found that this noise come from the fan when it is still not rotating!!! when it starts moving, the noise end....

Ne ho presi addirittura due perchè in offerta e perchè mi servono.

Hai sostituito , alla fine, la ventolina interna di raffreddamento ?! Sono curioso ma allo stesso tempo stupito che una marca "famosa" come Diamond incappi in queste "anomalie".

ciao, nel frattempo mi sono accorto che girano tantissimi modelli "guasti" come il mio. Molti OM mi hanno scritto e se fai un giro sul web puoi notare le stesse lamentele.

Il mio l'ho venduto.

Mai piu una cineseria di questo tipo. Ho comprato un CEP direttamente in fabbrica, tutto di metallo, robusto, tutta un'altro pianeta...state alla larga da queste schifezze, altro che marca "famosa"...non fate il mio stesse errore.

purtroppo molti OM parlano bene di alcune apparecchiature soltanto perchè le posseggono e non vogliono mettersi in gioco smentendosi sulle proprie scelte.

io mi batto da sempre per smontare i falsi miti e criticare tutto cio che fa schifo e ci propinano come buono.

Yes , as expected.

Even another replacement fan exactly the same model may make less noise.....or maybe more , depending how tightly the coils are wound.

dear Greg, I have just opened the case, and have seen that the noise come out from the fan, when it is no moving yet...

I am gonna replace the fan with a Noctua one, hoping to solve the problem..

Hi there

Without being able to see inside I would say that it is a AC motor that has some of its coils energised when idle., and what you are hearing is a form of transformer buzz.

Anyway , that's my theory.

I would swap it out with a computer fan., but of course you would have to match the airflow cfm to ensure adequate cooling.
