University of Toronto: The role of cities in Successful Societies

On September 19, 90 alumni and friends from the United Kingdom and continental Europe converged on London's Canary Wharf for a reception hosted by Chancellor David R. Peterson.

The event featured a lively discussion on cities and their role in fostering successful societies between Professor Meric Gertler, dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science, and Ms. Lyse Doucet (MA 1992 ARTSC), senior BBC presenter and correspondent.

U of T's celebration also marked the first public appearance appointment of Gordon Campbell as Canada's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
