Picc-Line Insertion

So I never in a million years thought I would have this many people watch my video on youtube. The only reason I posted this was because my dad was in Iraq and I wanted him to see what I went through. The reason of this "simple operation" is because I was diagnosed with Lymes Disease four years ago (2005) and they finally treated me in the summer of 2007. Obviously, this treatment did not work for me. Since my diagnosis, I had a feeding tube (January/February 2008) and was home schooled for a while. I also did online summer school to graduate high school a year early because I was missing so much school. (Ive also been through a lot more, but it would take a book to write about everything Ive been through)

My Current Health Condition: I still have Lymes; I was diagnosed with Rumination Syndrome from the Mayo Clinic (May 2009); I suffer from dizziness and joint pain all the time; my thyroid is screwed up; and a lot more fun stuff. Overall, I try not to complain because I know God could always deal me a worse hand of cards.

i have only ever seen picc lines done xray guided in radiology. geesh they didnt even make u change into a hospita; gown and people were allowed to video tape? seems very unprofessional. you must live in the USA.

@CrazyAmy1983 Same thoughts here. Wtf is up with this? Looking at the comments, seems like some people don't even get local anesthesia or are put under genera anesthesia which isn't recommended. Wtf?

@Horsegal143 Wow... how the hell did they manage to screw up that bad? Don't they use an ultrasound device to locate your vein? And wtf, pain? Don't they do local anesthesia? I think you should change hospital...

This is so wrong! A PICC line insertion is a sterile procedure and should be done with a sterile field and all the same precautions should be taken as when they're doing surgery!

im getting a pic line this tuesday for the 4th time in the past ten years or so.

for me its hurts for about the first two seconds(only slightly tho) but not really at all after that. Theres alot of blood though lol even tho i know it doesnt hurt that much i always get nervous...
