I seem to recall hearing they also use det-cord for something similar to this, as well? Maybe only imagined such. But even though I'm not a boiler-tech in any way, I'll hafta agree---I'd want more on than a sleeveless-T, an' a light-duty Plexiglas shield on what appears to be only a Class-2 hardhat, if I EVER attempted such a job as this...!!!
@bobby472 Well, steel tubes do get worn out and thin over time. But Ive never heard of a boiler "De-Slag" damaging tubes. Depending on the time the boiler was built and who designed it usually determined how thick the tubes were. B & W, Combustion and Foster & Wheeler are typical design types.
