*The soundtrack has been composed and produced by well-known Japanese, Shiro Sagisu. With a career spanning over 25 years (beginning in the late 1970s), he is best known for his work as a record producer for acts including Misia, Satoshi Tomiie, and Ken Hirai. Sagisu has also worked as a film composer for several anime and films and is well-known for his collaborations with Gainax, especially the soundtrack to Hideaki Anno's series Neon Genesis Evangelion and for the Bleach anime adaptation.

@OrionoftheStar Yeah, they really beefed-up the battles for Rebuild - I guess that's the compensation for having less of them. I remember feeling slightly dissapointed when Anime!Sahaquiel was finished in half a minute, despite all the buildup the fight got... Movie!sahaquiel fixed that.

@Clarinerd617 I really liked the original fight too. That's actually mostly a lie. The one scene they almost shot-for-shot duplicated was my favorite: when Shinji puts his AT Field to max and the sky goes dark...BAUCE.

This battle was awesome before the actual fight even started. Shinji broke the goddamn sound barrier. Holy shit.

Then Sahaquiel went and, in amazing Rebuild fashion, made itself from the falling amoeba it originally was into one of the most amazing battles in Rebuild. Tied with... EVERYTHING after Shamshel.

Somehow I always think of Sahaquel unfurling when I hear this.
