@Shooterstyle12 The Pashtuns ARE the native people of Afghanistan though. They were the Buddhists who built the Bamyan statues. The Rig Veda (1100 BC) and Herodotus (450 BC) both mention the Pashtuns by name. However, Islam is a foreign religion that killed off their ancient culture

The Bamiyan valley must have been absolutely lovely once – a lush mountain paradise with beautiful statues carved in the living rock, where people of different cultures could meet, trade, learn from one another, and establish lifelong friendships. How could anyone do anything but preserve a place of such splendor? The entire situation makes me feel very depressed and sick to my stomach. The world died a little more when those beautiful statues fell.
