Strange, I always remembered it as "Cool, Calm & Collected" which sounds better & made sense. I remember as a little boy taking the (empty) jar apart to get the roll on ball out of its rim to play with because it had air bubbles trapped inside so I was fascinated. Two words: wire cutters But it wasn't worth the trouble (or the punishment when your mother catches you playing with the wire cutters because you were cursing!)

I played a West Point Cadet in a Katie Winters Ice Blue Secret commercial back in 1964. The girl was nervous about going to the ball that night and dripping from her pits. Katie soothed her fears. She met me at the ball. Unfortunately, they didn't put Ice Blue Secret on her upper lip! Today, the same young girl would have RUN from someone giving her under-arm advice. :o)

@Herbert7J Who said men weren't allowed to use it??? They just said it was made for women i.e. there are perfumes added. If you want to use a perfumed pit-stick, more power to you.

The first deodorant was made in 1880 and it was indeed a cream. The roll-on came about in 1950's to imitate the ball point pen.

Tfhackett:nobody parodies songs/commercials like that anymore! Oh to be be a kid in the 70's & 80's again. We used to do song parodies of Oscar Meyer Commercials "Jimmy Carter has a way of f***ing up the USA" (and I'm a Democrat now). We also did a parody of Ex-Lax to the melody of "Relax" By Frankie Goes To Hollywood:" Ex Lax will do it if you just can't even poo it, Ex Lax will do it, when you gotta go! GO!" Generations after us don't do that anymore! Thanx.
