Having run several of DMG and Mikron milling machines, the service requirements of the Mikron are minor details when you factor in the poor DMG customer service and clunky/confusing controller interface (proprietary tailoring of the Heidenhain to suit the machine tool manufacturers needs); the Mikron wins hands down, in my opinion.
@lexichronicle The machine shop I deal with has one of these and a Deckel five axis, and the Mikron has needed more servicing and had more break downs than the DMGs. Very nice machine though.
