I thought my AKG clip-on bell mic (same one as the sax is using) for my sax was broke. But, turns out, no one new how to mix it, and some phantom power systems didn't want to work with it (why, I don't know). But, it works great on my new 90 Watt keyboard amp/PA! Since I thought it was broke, I abused the hell out of it in the back of my lock-box all winter, and it still plays like new! It's back in the case, ready for gigging again!

Nice, what effects did you use on the kit? any eq or re-verb on the overheads ?
really nice recording, perfectly mixed.....you never mic a bass amp though. always go d.i. with a bass

I would not say that you NEVER record a bass with a mic.
most users use the di option because it's easier and ok for most applications/songs. especially if you work with a daw and use a amp modeling software for post processing.
but sometimes you want a true analog sound which just can be achieved by using a real amp. So you need a mic. Normally you record through a d.i. and then reamp the recorded tracks with an amp and mic later. so you have both options.

what i forgot to say. it's always a matter of taste. and how your bass sound should be.

I agree with you there. i guess in this application using a mic was ideal to demonstrate the use of an akg mic on a bass amp. in a lot of situations though a d.i. with a bass gives you some more flexibility. i'm glad to see that akg is in touch with there customers, especially through youtube. i have a lot of respect for akg and have been more than pleased with the akg products that i use
