This is part of a showcase of Amalia Hoje @ Fnac Chiado store in Lisbon, Portugal, May 22nd 2009.
Amalia Hoje (Amalia today) is a project created to pay homage to Amalia Rodrigues fados* by reinventing them, under a contemporary pop approach, with singers coming from different genres - Fernando Ribeiro (Moonspell), Sonia Tavares (The Gift) and Paulo Praça (Turbo Junkie and Plaza). With direction of Nuno Gonçalves (The Gift).

* fados - a portuguese folk music style, often melancholic and dark. In recent years it has been best known abroad/worldwide by the works of Mariza in the world music field. And the collaborations of Dulce Pontes with Ennio Morricone. And others.
