HOW TO: Update PSP firmware to 5.00m33

READ THIS!!!

Go to:

This is the place to download the M33 patch for the 5.00 firmware.
Then Go To:
http://rapidshare.com/files/154173870/500.PBP
This link will bring you to the official 5.00 update.

Once you got those files on your desktop, extract the M33 patch and you will get to folders, TRANSLATE and UPDATE. Go into the Update folder. OK, now go to the downloaded 5.00 official firmware and rename it from EBOOT.pbp to 500.pbp. Put the 500.pbp into the Update folder of the M33 patch. Now drag the whole UPDATE folder into your PSP (which contains an EBOOT.pbp and a 500.pbp) in the GAME folder. Now go to your PSP and click on the update under game. It should be black in color with 5.00m33. Click on it and then it should boot up. When prompted click on X to start the update. Then follow the SCE updater's steps.

I'm afraid to do this, I mean shouldn't I use the Network Update? and If I do choose it can I still play my backup .iso files? oh and I'm not sure if I have cfw.. My current firmware is 3.71 M33-2... So can you guide me on what choice I should make? :)

@booyaka3 That is cfw. You should update to 5.50 in my other video instead, because it supports newer games.

im so confused! i have a 3.71 m33-2, its "hacked" so it plays games using the memory stick. Which firmware do i get so i can play patapon 3. and it should be hacked so i can put it on my..memory stick..a couple of my friends screwed it and their psps went blank.

@aksarayish but that's not custom firmware, so you can't play the .iso files... full games w/o the UMD, just whatever you download from the PSN. with custom firmware, you can play the digital copies of games you already have, as a backup in case the UMD fails. (or you can pirate them outright, if you don't mind the whole prison thing, lol)

My PSP 2000 was version 3.0 something.. then i upgraded it to 5.03...

now it shows "There are no games"

OK FOR EVERYONE IF YOU MESS UP THERES ONLY ONE OPTION LEFT IF U FUCKED UP UR PSP GO TO SETTINGS>SYSTEM SETTINGS>FORMAT MEMORY STICK>ERASE EVERYFILE SO THAT IT RESTARTS AND ALL CORRUPT FILES GO AWAY REMEMBER UPDATE AT UR OWN RISK!
