On February 5, 2011, I attended a rehearsal for "First Fusion," a collaboration between Bob Weir and the Marin Symphony that will take place on May 7, 2011. It's a benefit for Marin Symphony. After the orchestral musicians left the rehearsal, Bob and his pals stuck around to work on some other material. They were kind enough to let me wander around while they warmed up with this sweet jam. Bob Weir, guitar; Jeff Chimenti, piano; Jay Lane, drums; Robin Sylvester, electric bass; Rob Wasserman, acoustic bass. Sure does make me wanna fly back home! I can just imagine the Openness to interaction this will create w the orchestra! How nice. I saw Bob w Phil & co at SF Symphony w MTT, 94 i think it was. This will be a radical step forward from that. Gotta seriously think of hijacking a jet to the Promised Land ;-)
