Well you guys sure know how to make something quite complex into something really quite complex.
A simple water pipe analogy is a way to explain so as folk can gasp without getting even more confused
. Water in one end of the pipe is the source. Water Out the other end is the drain. In the middle is a gate to turn water on or off.

@MegaHazzer123 No, the entire group is just how a single memory cell in a flash memory device works.
In other words, all three of them combined are doing the work to determine the state of a single bit.

@johnpro2 Yeah but that really wouldn't tell you anything interesting. What you describe is how every circuit works.
The important part here is that electrons are sent into the floating gate which causes a negative charge that drains the positive charge off of the main circuit.
Your analogy really wouldn't tell us anything about that process at all.
