The Pop legacy of Ennio Morricone!:

The Clash had played with western imagery before, such as with "The Magnificent Seven". But bassist Paul Simenon took it to fruition with his next band, Havana 3AM. Among their unsung mix of rockabilly, reggae, and rhumba is this Morricone tribute instrumental, with some ska in its gallop, fine Mexican horns, and ringing leads by Gary Myrick.

The self-titled album is out of print but definitely worth hearing, for fans of The Clash, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Perez-Prado, and Lee Perry.

  • @AlexandreBeckao never apologize for your English. A love for amazing music is universal.

  • This is so bad ass. You can hear the punk rock influence as well as the reggae influence of the clash...but all of a sudden it's like traditional Mexican...almost mariachi sounding shit...and then it morphs into like an old cowboy movie soundtrack. Way to bring it all together. DAMN!
