Really beautiful vid, alot of things there I recognize with myself. Specially with that sentences "go under the clinic radar". Sadly it's easier and smoother to go by in life when you try to act as the NT's do. But at the same time ppl will not understand us and think we work as they are and we come between instead which makes the gap btw us and the NTs larger. With more education about us, more will understand. I think this vid makes a fantastic view on how we think, act and feel. // Jessica

How can you tell the difference between just being a Scorpio and having Asperger syndrome, its practically the same.

@slaintedeleon Yeah, if the normal people would stick to their own rules that would make it much easier for us. Unfortunately my experiece is that there is one set of rules for them and another for us and this double standard is applied shamelessly and usually openly.

I'm an aspie woman, 64 years old, and I wouldn't want to be NT. OK, so I don't key into the "social music", but I DO have unique and deep understanding and appreciation of other sorts of music ... and the Universe.
Besides, the "social music" is so illogical and often leads to misery for NT's. Being NT is no guarantee of happiness.

I have aspergers... This video made me cry, it made me realise a few things about myself

Oh and when you do finally break down and cry, it's a "magical" moment for onlookers as if their mind games and bullying has finally broke you and you are doing something out of the norm when really your tears come out behind closed doors.
Message. Leave us the fuck alone if you can't treat us like a human being.

If you are an autistic female even mild, expect harsh things being said about you, women heckling you all while smiling and making sure you are an outcast. Stay in your cage.

@randomchickpea I'm sorry you found the video depressing. I agree that wallowing in self-pity is detrimental, but if we are honest, most of us have done it at one time or another. This video is to show that if you are, others have too, and there is still hope.

It's been some time since (you) posting this; I'm a psych-student with HFA (a challenging and rewarding pursuit). My question, have you seen a lot of difference between fe/male aspie interactions/expectations; or more between neuro-a/typs? I wonder if aspie women are looking for similar things as typics; and what is entailed in "can't be first"? Thanks, for your interesting-informative insights for us all. (welcometosodo@live.com). They say guys are more 'abstract'. I wonder!

@welcomesodoing Social expectations for female are higher. Girls and women are also better at masking social inadequacy. This is one reason why more females (and esp. higher functioning females) aren't being diagnosed. Many "special interests" of ASD women may be "normalized" (like recipe collecting) but it is the intensity and obsessive preoccupation that makes it different than for an NT. The thought process between ASD and NT is very different. F ASD and M ASD are more similar.
