Dead Space 2 Hand Cannon/Elevator Action achievement

After beating the horrendous Hardcore difficulty I decided to see what the Hand Cannon could do...well it has unlimited ammo and instantly kills most enemies and is a pretty nice souvenier for beating Hardcore. Bonus points for the Elevator action achievement!

This Trophy is really hard to get but now I would like to beat Hard Core mode!

I like the sense of humor EA has XD! On which mode did you got this achievement? Is the Hand Cannon available on any mode or just new game+?

@DarshanD93 The Elevator Action I got on Zealot (since it offers some fair difficulty for me at this point)HandCannon was available for me after I beat Hardcore and I found it in the store in my Zealot save so im sure it appears anywhere. Even in Dead Space Severed(though Gabe sounds like Isaac when he fires it)!

Another easy way to get the elevator action achievement/trophy is to fully upgrade the detonator and when you shoot the mines hit the tripods directly and they should die in one hit (at least on casual)
