http://www.synergy-athletics.com - Muscle recovery is crucial to get back to training and playing. Many athletes get sore from training hard or playing their sport hard. Sled dragging is great for gpp, but also can be used as a muscle recovery tool. Use light sled drags to get the muscles moving against resistance and improve blood flow to the sore muscles.

Benefits of active recovery strategies will help athletes and lifters feel better, perform better, and aid in avoiding future sport or training injuries.

Thanks for watching!

  • hey joe, i need sum advice. yesterday i was workin out my chest.and the next day, which is today. . it was really sore. so today i decided to work on it again. and so while i was workin out my chest, maan was really painful. but i just got some blood pumpin to my chest to lessen the pain and then i just went all out on it. so now as im righting this comment. its sore at the moment and i know its gona be sore tomorrow. is it good to workout this hard on ur chest while it is already sore ?

  • @JusHere2PostComments Don't go two days ina row if you are training hard. Good luck!

  • how does this speed recovery? doesn't any further exercise like such possibly re-tear recovering muscles making it take longer to recover and reducing results?

  • Light exercise - active recovery - speeds up lactic acid removal by increased blood circulation. The exercises shown in the video are done with a submaximal weight, low sets, and a large ROM to highlight these benefits. I hope that helps your training! - Joe

  • thanks joe, i appreciate your response to my questions. so if I worked my arms really hard one day, and i take 5 pound dumbells the next day and excercise slightly with those, do you think that would help me out at all?

  • Well we usually don't have an arm day, we use an upper, lower split - but I know what you mean. If you are tight and sore in your arms and peform some light bodyweight or low weight exercises (and dont perform them to failure) that will help recover for the next workout. I'm glad I can answer your question! Good luck in your training - Joe

  • @jhashey so i need to wait a couple days to fully recover, then go again.

is it true that if u tear ur muscles further even though they are in recovery.

does it make that muscle group weaker ?

  • i didn't mean just an arm day lol, I meant like arms chest shoulders and triceps is usually what I do in a single day. but yeah I'm grateful for the advice! thanks again. byee
