Effective Sound mix,, groundbreaking video montage for its time - but inaccurate. They compress the whole radiowave broadcast inside the solar system, while the furthest object is located only a few light minutes away. I know it is a movie, and that it would be very boring to stop the radio broadcast in blackness between a few neighboring stars, but I figured - just to point out:)

Good Point. And conveniently aligned all planets and moons on one straight path as well. Have you noticed also that in not a single SF movie, starship is not in the dark? It is allways some invisible nearby light source. And not only one. It has filler light, moon light, ambient light, scatter light (even if they travel in space vacuum, with no means of scattering of light source) ;)
