I think Avatar is also great not because of the story.. wich is pretty much the same as pocahontas.

I think Avatar is great because of the elements they put in, like for example, the way they people of that avatar world were connected to spirit, how they naturally felt how everything was interconnected and part of a bigger picture.. a broader concept, a higher form of consciousness.. i think the lovely bones and avatar both share that :]

The only reasonable principle to follow in avatar is that humans destroy everything beautiful, we did it with the earth via wars and global warming and stuff and we`ll always do it unless humanity can change the way they think and act.

The lovely bones is so much more. It teaches us to be kind and love with all our heart...

I appreciate The Lovely Bones and Avatar.

The Lovely Bones is realistic and thought-provoking on what really does go on in the world. Every day. Awful things happen that affect numerous people, not just the victim. Lives are changed forever.

Avatar has a repetitive theme: conflict between two groups, more specifically, two races. It's a story that's been told time and time again, but I think it's important to keep retelling it. Keep the central message alive.

Both movies are done well.

@Vidds4u no. only the lovely bones is a good movie. Avatar is not. Avatar is a copy of the matrix, dance with the wolves, metal gear solid, the smurfs, etc etc etc.

@valiantseagull Does it really matter how often a story is told? And I think Avatar and The Lovely Bones are two totally diffrent movies and have diffrent genres so i don't think you can really compare them. They're both good movies
