The disruption of the two largest of the WTC buildings caused mass destruction UNDERNEATH the ground. You must also realize that WTC 7 was not the only additional building to collapse. Everything has a cause and effect. Building brought down disrupts underground (earthquake) = collapse of additional buildings. Very simple.

@tonymilitant Guys, it wasn't necessarily debris. To understand this you have to understand the history of the sector of Manhattan that the WTC buildings were located. That area never used to be there. It is simply a man made sector of the island, done by bringing in earth and scuttling ships and piling 18th century trash up so that people could expand Manhattan Island. In this, the ground is not "stable" enough, in the sense that a 110 story building crashing to the ground on a man (cont'd)
