great....it makes me want a couple -_-

I just LOVE how soft their wings are! When I had the privilege of handling a friend's giant cave roach, I rubbed his wings against my cheek. It may sound gross to quite a majority of people, but give it a try, it's very soothing, haha!

Strange I never liked cockroaches and I happen to click this and then I was like "aww that's cute I want one!" lol ;s interesting little creatures it seems.

You see, roaches get a bad rap, but its always the pretty tropical ones who make them look so much better
-
What sort of environment do you keep them in?
Im quite interested in getting a few, but there is hardly any help on the interwebs.

@carlismycoolcat they use their wings for gliding

Good to know, I saw a movie where they used those roaches and they flew in the movie. I was afraid it was true. lol It was one of those swarm type movies.

Are these legal in California? These are cool...haven't seen any for sale out here, and our wildlife and game laws are so wacko sometimes....
Do they smell bad? I like cockroaches but I have never kept them as pets and wonder if they smell.

@victoriapschen Whenever they emit their defensive scent, it smells a bit like nachos, lol... but only temporarily. Otherwise, they don't really have a smell. When I open the lid to their tank, it just smells of moist dirt, which I find to be a pleasant smell :)

What do they use their wings for?mating?flying?or for show?plz write back.

@carlismycoolcat The death's head species isn't capable of flight, and the giant cave roaches only barely fly. So I figure their main use is for mating/displaying to females.
