Local Lens: A Hyperlocal Experience Powered by Bing Maps

This video showcases a piece of work I did in collaboration with the hyperlocal team at the advanced engineering team at MSN. The video illustrates the overal experience, and in particular a couple of interactive visualization techniques I applied to this system: puddles (a better cluster, computed in real-time, representation than just piling pins on top of a map) and spotlighting (a subtractive technique that emphasizes regions of the map as opposed to add more noise and clutter, e.g., overdecorating map pins)
