Mika has such huge play gyms but would rather be on mommy. This is a rare occurrence so I had to get it on video. Hehe.

  • @flychomperfly - There aren't many things for him to chew on the playgym (which actually looks 100% different than it did a year ago when I took that video) because he just doesn't LIKE to chew. The most chewing he ever does is punching one or two holes in my mail or chewing a finger trap for all of two seconds. He doesn't like wood at all. Trust me, in the 10 years we've been together, I've tried everything under the sun with him but he just doesn't like to chew or play with toys in general.

  • @flychomperfly - The only type of toy he shows REMOTE interest in are bell toys, but I always keep a variety - shreddable and non - in his cage and all around the house and the three playgyms.

  • maya, his playgym is so awesome. where'd you get that yellow disk where toys are in? its so neat and clean. try having evie for a day. she'll tear shit up. that calendar in the background, that will be gone

  • @bookworm0550 - I got the yellow hanging foraging bowl from eBay. ^_^

  • @birdsforthewin--what did you type in?

  • @bookworm0550 - Hmmm... I don't even remember anymore! I think I was just browsing "bird/parrot toys." I really love it, but just wish it had nickel hardware rather than gold 'cause all my other hardware on the toys are nickel... no match!!

  • you mentioned Mika doesn't spend much time on the play gym. that can happen, but try this...

when they are young, they will explore different textures and will gnaw on them, so they are intrigued by all kinds of toys. however, once they get older, they prefer to chew and destroy. i noticed you didn't have much on there that can be chewed up by a little guy.

try getting some wimpy plastic, cardboard, yucca wood, balsa wood, or paper toys. put them in his cage 1st to find out what he likes.

  • This play gym is amazing! how did you make it? i would really appreciate knowing how to build one for my lovebird! She is all over the place:)
